Hi I'm Devin

I grew up in Washington State. I love music & I'm blessed to help support my family as a professional musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, a mom and a professional musician. I play the piano, the guitar and I sing. I love teaching, writing and performing music. Bike riding and walking outside are my favorite forms of exercise. I could spend days at a time lost in a good book. I'm currently working (slowly but surely) on writing a book. I'm also a certified make-up artist. I love watching funny tv shows and sci-fi movies with my husband. Spending time with my family is the greatest thing in the world! I don't know what I'd do without them!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. Some people think that means I've chosen to be a Mormon just because my parents did. This is far from the truth. My parents taught me to find answers for myself. They taught me to pray, to have high standards in spite of what those around me chose and to remember my Savior, Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, in my early young adulthood, I spent some time doing "whatever I wanted", disregarding the things I'd been taught. I had studied religion daily, for years. I contemplated what I felt to be true, what I'd learned and what I thought was the most valuable way to live my life. Ultimately, I turned to my Heavenly Father in prayer. When I have hit rock bottom, the only one who has consistently been there for me is my Savior. Time and time again I've reached out, only to find that He was there the whole time. When I felt I was waiting for Him to work some miracle in my life, He was always just waiting for me to reach out for Him.

How I live my faith

My Savior, Jesus Christ, is the foundation of my life. His Atonement has given me the forgiveness, freedom and ability to live the kind of life I want to live and continually work to become the kind of person I want to be. When things weigh me down, they don't weigh me down for long because He helps me to carry my burdens. This is the reason I do what I do; the reason I go to my church meetings, live a life so different from what society tells me I should live and why I strive to have an eternal family. I am constantly reminded that through Him, there is always hope!
