Hi I'm Marci

I grew up in Idaho. I'm a teacher. I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho Falls--lived in the same house till I left home for college. I attended Ricks college and played volleyball there. Then I attended BYU to finish my degree in English teaching. I met Mike at BYU and after marrying in the Idaho Falls Temple we started our adventure together. We've lived in Provo, Salt Lake, Bountiful (all in Utah), Las Vegas, Fairfax county Virginia, and now Denver Colorado. One thing that has really helped us through these moves is our church. I always know I'll find friends fast, because of my ward and visiting teachers! I love to play volleyball. For a long time I didn't play much, I didn't even work out very much (5 kids in 9 years? I was busy). But now that I get more sleep at night, I'm being more active and I really enjoy it. I never actually taught officially in the classroom (besides student teaching). We started our family right away! But I am a teacher to my children everyday, what better place to use my degree? Most of my time is spent caring for my kids. What's for dinner, the science of laundry, and juggling schedules, but I always try to take a few minutes to recharge. I need the quiet moments of scripture study and prayer. I don't think I could manage as well without the scriptures, it helps me feel calm.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel lucky, I've always been a part of the church. With my parents as members I always attended church. But just attending church and meetings doesn't give you a testimony. I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. Having been baptized and received the Holy Ghost I have felt the spirit testify to me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, of the importance of Temple marriage as Mike and I were sealed together for eternity, and that our Prophet is truly inspired and called of God. I can't deny these things--I feel peace in my life to be grounded in the Gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now I play the piano in the primary with the children. It is so fun to hear the kids sing and learn new songs. One thing that always amazes me is how much music can inspire and testify. I get to hear these angels sing every week--they make my music heavenly, though sometimes I'm using only one hand! I visit teach some sisters in our ward. I know visiting teaching is so important and it is our chance to be the Savior's hands. My own visiting teachers helped me move 3 times in the last 6 months! They were so kind and helpful, delivering meals, packing boxes and watching my kids!! Luckily I stayed within the ward boundaries so I can repay them as the years go by.
