Hi I'm Mikayla

I'm a whistler, a picture taker, a lover of the outdoors, I believe in Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Idaho and my father works with potatos...go figure! Idaho is famous for their potatos. I embrace life a little more on the safe side, and enjoy the happiness that comes from "doing the right thing". Throughout my life I have discovered that I am a daughter of God with my own personality. In highschool I was the nerd by day as yearbook editor and jock by night as the catcher for the softball team. I am the only daughter in a family of 5; my parents have referred to me as "the calm between the two storms". My brothers, one older and one younger, are my very best friends. Throughout the years we fought like normal siblings, went through hard times, and have formed a lasting bond. I attribute much of that bond to the teachings and love we recieved from our great parents. Currently I live in Arizona on a grand adventure of preaching the gospel to others and love every minute of it. After, I plan to continue my schooling into the medical field and see where life takes me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am fortunate enough to have two wonderful parents come in contact with the church early in their own lives and have been raised in the church. I have been blessed to have the teachings of the gospel within the home and to fall back on throughout my life. My family was stronger in the gospel some years rather than others, but I witnessed the members of the church reach out and sincerely care for my family during both the easy and the rough times. I have always had an innate desire to please my Heavenly Father. When gaining my own personal testimony of the gospel, it was period of soul searching. We will all work on strengthening our testimony throughout life, but we must have a foundation to begin with. I was away from home, completely making my own choices and learning how to rely on the Lord. For a number of months I wondered spiritually and found myself becoming lazy in putting to action the teachings I had received from my parents and church leaders growing up. Through gaining my own testimony of prayer and scripture study, I realized how real the Savior was and that He would never give up on me. The Lord also placed in my path a few dear friends who didn't give up on me. I am Mormon today because my Heavenly Father never gave up on me. I know he never will. Im grateful for my family and friends who listened and acted as He directed them to keep me close. I know there is one path God has created for his children to follow. He is not a God of confusion, but a God of love, peace, and happiness. I have never seen my Heavenly Father face to face, but by faith I have seen him work miracles in my life. He wants us all to live with Him again and I know through his son, Jesus Christ, is the only way we can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by bearing testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and that Heavenly Father loves me. This is a knowlege that can never change. I have been baptized and have taken the name of Jesus Christ upon myself and believe in being an example of the believers. Daily prayers, scripture study, attending church and pondering are key principles to gaining a relationship with God and with my Savior Jesus Christ. As I come to know Christ more by acting on my faith, I want to be like him more. I know He is the way and will never lead me astray.
