Hi I'm Sharon

I'm a children's advocate. I 'm funny. I'm a great cook. I'm a grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married and divorced more than once. I have finished school as a single parent, while working a full time job. I am a mother of three and grandmother of 5. I have seen most of Colorado from the back of a Harley. I have water-skied, backpacked, camped, traveled and survived brain surgery. I have seen parts of Southern California from a hot-air balloon. I have been stranded in a blizzard. I have prepared a 4 course dinner for 150 people. I have started over at least 4 times. I cry often and love living each day.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon makes me happy. Through the teachings of the gospel I know that I am a daughter of God; realizing that helps me be a better person. I know that God is mindful of every detail of my life. I know that He knows my name. He hears my prayers and He answers every one of them. He wants me to be happy and to choose the right. He loves me and as any loving father, he wants me as his child to return home to Him. All of our church activities are focused on teaching us of our Saviors love for us and the pathways we need to follow in order to be together as families forever. The thought of being with my family forever is the most joyful thing I can think of. There is no greater joy for me than when my grandchildren run into my arms or touch my cheek and say "I love you so much Mimi!" I have read the Book of Mormon many times. I love to read and it really is the most fascinating story. I am grateful that they recorded their history for us. I am grateful for their stories and the lives they led and the mistakes they made. They were just everyday people like us trying to do the right thing.

How I live my faith

I belong to the largest woman's organization in the world. It was founded for the purpose of helping others. My happiness and fulfillment comes when I am helping someone in need. I have helped others when they have brought their children into the world, and helped a family when someone was leaving this world. I was an active participant in the rebuilding of a community after a high school shooting and building a youth center where none existed before. I love teaching the children about the Savior and marvel at their insights and understanding. I find myself, when I loose myself in service to others. It builds my faith, it fills my soul, it gives me peace.
