Hi I'm Shelley Beth

I'm a missionary. I love to laugh, cook, and play basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm from San Antonio Texas but I'm serving in Louisiana. I have an older sister who also served a mission and two younger siblings. I love to laugh and try to keep situations light-hearted. I also enjoy reading, my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Before I came on my mission I went to community college for a while. I'm not quite sure what career I want to pursue yet there are too many interesting things to try. Outside of school I enjoyed spending time with friends, playing games and watching movies. I also like cooking and trying new recipes particularly deserts. I love to listen to music, sing and dance. My favorite sport is basketball, I'm not very good at it but it's so much fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and he loves me. When I read the Book of Mormon or the Bible I can feel the Spirit. And as I pray and choose to serve him and my fellow men I can feel his love for me and for others. I know that I am a daughter of God and as my relationship to him grows so does my desire to serve him. I know this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that by following Him I can gain true joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do the small things each day; praying, reading my scriptures and trying to make good decisions. Before I came on my mission I was also a sunday school teacher for 5 and 6 year olds. Now I've made he decision to dedicate the next 18 months to God. I've learned that as I serve God and do the things I know I should I come closer to him. I know that God loves me and wants me to be happy and as I follow him I am able to feel the Holy Spirit and I grow in faith.
