Hi I'm Ken

I grew up in Tooele Utah. I have lived in Texas, Illinois, Iowa and now I live in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful lady. I have two great sons. I like spending time with my family. One of the things we like to do as a family is walk our dog. We have a dog that loves to catch the Frisbee. We take to our park every evening and he runs through the bushes for awhile to look for lizards to chase then he catches his Frisbee. He likes to make friends with everyone and he will invite them to throw the Frisbee for him. I love the outdoors. Nature can be so peaceful. I love anything to do with the outdoors hiking fishing or just sitting in the yard and listening to the birds. One of my sons is on a mission for our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). He is in the country of Armenia. My other son is a straight A student in High School. They are both some of the greatest kids around. I am very blessed. I like to work on cars as long as I do not have to hurry to get them back on the road. Someday I hope to have a hobby car to work on. I also like to do home improvement projects. It is nice to do things to make our home a better place for our family.

Why I am a Mormon

The family I grew up in are members of the church. They only attended church occasionally. When I was 14 I had a friend that always went to church and He invited me to come to church with him. There was also a girl that went to the church that had a little crush on me and I on her so when I was 14 started going to church. After attending a couple of times I noticed how I felt when I went to church and I gained a testimony of our savior Jesus Christ and I have been attending ever since. I was blessed to serve a mission for our Saviors Church in Texas. That experience helped me truly see how Jesus Christ's church can change peoples life’s and help bring them Joy. I want my family to have all of the blessings of membership in Jesus Christ's church. The most important one is the ability to be an eternal family. I love my wife more than anything. We have now been married for22 years but that is not nearly long enough. I want to have her as my wife for all eternity. I love my two sons so very much. A lifetime is not long enough to show them all of my love. I want to have my family with me for all eternity. The church makes me happy. It brings comfort. It gives me guidance. It brings me peace.

How I live my faith

My family likes do live our faith together. We read The Book of Mormon and the Bible together almost every day. Sometimes we miss a day but we try to read together every day. After we finish reading for the day we talk about how we can apply what we read to our lives. We pray together at every meal and every night before we go to bed. At least once a week we spend an evening together as a family. We usually include a small lesson on a principal taught to us by our savior. We often have a small treat and play a game together. I like to spend time with the youth of the church. I have been able to work with the Boy Scouts of America troop that is sponsored by our Church. The scouting program teaches the youth so many life skills. Both of my sons have gotten their Eagle Scout award and it had been a blessing to our family to participate with the youth. One thing that I do to try to live as a Mormon is just to pick up trash when I am out walking in the neighborhood. I know that seems like a silly thing to say about living my religion but I believe that Jesus Christ wants us to try to make our world a better place any way we can. So, even though it is a very small thing, I try to clean up the trash in our neighborhood.
