Hi I'm Tom

I grew up in Othello Washington. I'm a small town boy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very small town of about 5000 people. I'm the last child of three and the son of two very loving and supporting parents. I'm currently studying Exercise Science with the hopes of getting into Physical Therapy school. I'm the first of my family to attend a university and I hope to make my family proud. I love being around people and making new friends. I am recently married and love living life with my wife and best friend!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was 16 years old. It has been the best decision that I have ever made. One that has forever blessed my life. I am the only member of the Church in my family, at times that can be hard but I have been blessed with loving and accepting parents. As the missionaries taught me my heart was softened and my mind was enlightened. I found myself more and more interested in what they had to say every week. I loved learning the Gospel and feeling that feeling of peace that the missionaries brought with them. I gained a testimony of the Love that my Father in heaven has for me and I gained a testimony of how he restored the Gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Soon I gained a strong desire to be baptized but since I was under the age of 18 I had to ask my parents for their permission. I was scared, I didn't know how they would react and so I put it off until I was about two weeks away from being baptized. My dad picked my up one day from a friends house where I met with the missionaries and He asked me if i had plans to join the Mormon church. I hesitated for a minute and then told my dad that I did want to join the church and that I would need his permission. He asked me if I was going to be baptized for a friend or for a girl and when I explained to his that it was my desire that I felt it was right for me he smiled and told me "son, I never chose a religion for myself, and I won't choose one for you, you're free to make your own decision." And so I did, I was baptized on June 9th, 2004 and my life has never been the same.

How I live my faith

I strive to make everyday better than the last. Life is sometimes hard for all of us, but when we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives, there is nothing that we can't overcome. I know that he lived and died for us. He provided us with the scriptures. True happiness can come through reading his word. I love The Book of Mormon and the peace it brings to my soul. I know that it is true and that testimony has blessed me beyond belief.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Tom
The missionaries number one message is about the family. How families can be together forever. They will teach you how this can be achieved through Heavenly Father's plan, also known as the Plan of Salvation. They will teach you about Jesus Christ and his sacrifice and love for us. They will bring a spirit of peace into your home. This has been my personal experience with missionaries. From day one you can feel how much they love and care about you and your family.
