Hi I'm Mike

I am a husband and father of 4 wonderful children. I am an engineering manager of a major manufacturer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineer that loves to spend time with my family. I travel extensively with my job so I must make the most of the time that I am able to spend with my family. I stay active in my children's extra-curricular activities. I support each of my children in their interest. I have been a band dad for both of my girls. After that, I have been a baseball scorekeeper for my son's high school baseball team. And now, I have returned to being a band dad for my youngest son. Each child has been an individual and I support each of them in becoming the best that they can be in the activities that they choose. I love my wife and do many things with her. I have learned many things from her and have been able to accomplish things that she has taught me that I never would have dreamed of doing before meeting her. One of these things is to cross stitch. She taught me to overcome my perceptions of gender based hobbies and to learn to enjoy these types of activities. She has helped me grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. She is a great woman.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon but came to a point of my life during my teens that I wanted to make sure that I was not being fooled. As a Christian, I investigated many religions and was about to affiliate myself with a local church of a different denomination because that was where all of the pretty girls in school went. I thought that it would make me cool if I became a member where they attended. Before joining that congregation, I decided to investigate the church that I was raised in, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). As I studied, I realized that I had the truth and that being cool was to choose the Church that taught the teachings of Jesus without compromise and without apologizing to the world for following him. I also did what all the Mormon leaders tell you to do for answers: I prayed and asked God. The feelings that overcame me were undeniable and I have been strongly involved with the Church since that point.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ. His example of service has led me to participate in many community service areas. I do not enjoy natural disasters, such as tornadoes, hurricanes or flooding, but I love the closeness that it caused individuals in the community to feel. It lets everyone but differences aside and to help one another. I participate in as many "clean-up" activities after these natural disasters so that I can enjoy that feeling of love and compassion, as was demonstrated by our Savior.
