Hi I'm Colleen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At 56 years of age, I still feel as though I am a small town girl. I love the daily blessings of being raised and now living in a small town. Everyday I enjoy the beauty of nature, the laughter of my grandchildren, the caring ways of my children and the love of a good man, to whom I have been married for 35 years. I also am blessed with wonderful family and friends. I am privileged to now be raising Miniature Hereford cattle ( a big herd of 4) and sharing that opportunity with my children and grandchildren. I enjoy family time, traveling, sewing, music, reading and visiting with family and friends. I enjoy family gatherings and all that entails. Most of all I enjoy being home and the comfort that brings me. The greatest joys in my life call me Mom or Grammie. As a mother of five and grandmother of 13, my heart is full as I continue to be amazed at the Lord's blessings. Over the years I have worked as a dental assistant and in banks. At this time I have my own purse business. I enjoy it as I make new friends along the way. Life is good and I have so very much to be thankful for.

Why I am a Mormon

As a seventeen year old I joined the church. I will be forever grateful to the family who took the time to introduce me to the church and continue in patience as they taught me by their example. Family Home Evening is something very dear to me because of them. I don't have any major claims to fame but I can say I was baptized on the Joseph Smith Memorial grounds, in a little chapel there, not far from where our dear Prophet was born. Every day I know that my life has purpose and meaning because of the love I felt as a child and as I grew. I value my membership in the church and hold dear the memories shared with these wonderful people. Growing up I was taught about Jesus Christ and always had a love for my Savior. Over the years this has deepened as I have learned continually of his love for each of us. As I have lost family members dear to me, I know that I will be reunited with them again after this earth life. That brings me the greatest comfort daily. I look forward to that reunion and am so thankful I believe in a life after this. I have appreciated raising my family in the gospel and for the help the church has been in teaching them the love of our Savior.

How I live my faith

At this time I work with the Young Women in our ward. Serving the Lord is something I am always willing and happy to do. Afterall, He has truly blessed my life and given me so very much to be thankful for! I try to live the Golden Rule and find that in service we gain so very much ourselves. Prayer is a major part of my life. I find that the Lord blesses me and answers prayers that are offered. I strive to be a little better and love a little deeper each day.
