Hi I'm Robin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my wife while serving in the US Marine Corp. We finally married 3 years later after we both served Missions. I love to travel and have been to Japan the Philippines, Spain, Greece, Alaska and Mexico as well as all over the United States. I love to spend time with my wife and 2 children. I love to go camping with my family. I really enjoy cooking and trying new foods. I even built an old fashion style wood fired brick oven for baking, especially baking bread and making fantastic Pizza. I run regularly to stay in shape and I enjoy providing service to my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family however I was not truly converted until I was 20 years old. My parents divorced when I was 12 and then my father passed away when I was 15 years old. For the next 3 years I did not attend any church at all. At 18 I decided I needed to go back to church and spent a couple of years attending different Christian churches. At about my 20th birthday I was in the Marines and serving in Bahrain during the first Gulf War (Desert Storm). I had been given a little red service members copy of the Book of Mormon and decided to start reading it. I remember the spirit I felt as I truly read the Book of Mormon for the first time. It was like coming home after a long journey. I could not put it down. I took the challenge to find out if it was true. Each night for about 2 months I would find a private place out in the desert away from camp where I could kneel and pray vocally to my Heavenly Father. I poured out my heart to the Lord and he heard my prayers and changed my life. Since then much has happened but my testimony of the Savior has only grown stronger. I love the Lord and am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Lords plan of happiness is real and full and rich. The answers to all my questions were there in his simple perfect plan. The Atonement is real. I know because I have used it. Because of it I have felt real peace and joy. The more I learn and the better I get at following the Savior the greater the Peace and Joy that I feel. I believe in Christ. I love him and am proud to be a member of His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by working to be obedient to all that the Lord has asked me to do. I realized that i am not perfect and have a lot of work to do. I read the scriptures and pray each morning and night with my family. I participate regularly in service activities. I have help people move, rebuild a roof, clean up after a fire, visited the sick in the hospital, helped with yard work and landscaping, worked with a youth group and served in the Scouting Program (Cub/Boy Scouts).
