Hi I'm Russell Hawkins

I'm an acoustician. I'm a soccer player. I'm a father of two. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student attending Penn State University. I am working toward my masters degree in Acoustics. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. I really enjoy all kinds of music. I play the piano and guitar, and I love to sing. I love playing sports but above all I am a soccer player.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Although I was born into this church, My faith in the Jesus Christ is something I have developed on my own. I have had many experiences in my life that have built my testimony and helped me come to a knowledge of my Savior and Redeemer and the plan that he has for each and every one of us. I served a mission for the Lord for two years in Bulgaria where I learned to love the Lord and love his work. As I chose the right, I know I am following Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through trying to emulate the example that the Savior set for us. I believe the best way to teach is through example and that I should do my very best to follow the promptings of the spirit. I try everyday to be a little bit better and to be more like Jesus Christ. As I progress day by day, I grow more to understand the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. As I read the scriptures, I can better understand the life of Jesus Christ and his loving sacrifice. I try to pray often so that I can feel close to my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I believe music is one of the best ways to draw close to them and so I try to raise my voice in song often.
