Hi I'm Maile Young

I'm a stay at home mom in Arizona raising three kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was able to help put my husband through college which has allowed me to be able to stay home and raise my kids. I love cooking, baking and attempting to be crafty!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon and at a young age always knew that the church was true. It wasn't until I was in College that I gained a strong testimony of the church and knew what it meant to be a Mormon. I was taking a Religion/Institute class at the local college. I remember walking in late to my class and sitting in the front row. The instructor was talking about Jesus Christs life etc. I don't remember the specifics. What i do remember is the overwhelming feeling that I felt in my chest while he spoke. I was overcome with an emotion that is undescribable and will never forget! After class and before heading into work I ran home and wrote my experience in my journal and said a prayer to thank my heavenly father for the confirmation that I received from the Holy Ghost that the church was true! I am so thankful for the power of prayer. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows who I am and is aware of my needs and my desires. I am thankful for the trials that I have received throughout my life that have helped me become the person that I am today! I know that this church is true and that Families can be together FOREVER! I am thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost that testifies these truths on a daily basis to me! How grateful I am to be a Mormon and to raise my kids in this gospel.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon I have the opportunity to be involved at church. I get to work with the Young Women in our ward that are between the ages of 12-18. We get together one day out of the week (besides our regular meeting on Sunday) and plan activities that the girls get to be involved in. The activities are anywhere from doing some type of service in the neighborhood/community, participating in a triathalon, learning how to cook, sew, clean, dress etc. Its a time where we can be together and have fun! I am amazed at the things the girls these days are exposed to at school! It is important that they have a firm foundation to stand up to their beliefs and set their own standards! As a Mormon I also get to be a Visiting Teacher. I am assigned two sisters a month that I get to visit and give a lesson from the Ensign Magazine that our church puts out every month. During the visit it helps me to be able to see if there is something I can do to help her out in any way and to get to know her better! I am thankful for the Visiting Teachers that visit me every month. Its comforting to know that there is always someone to call when i'm in the need of help!
