Hi I'm Edward

I grew up in utah, I am an eagle scout, and I love engineering and drawing, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in utah my whole life, I have also been to a couple of places outside of utah a few times, my hobbies include studying mechanical, digital, and/or electrical engineering, reading, drawing, tinkering around with little gagets or devices, I am sort of a anima junky, I am a eagle scout, I like video games and I love to snowboard.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life, but I became more fully converted durring my teenage years and while on my mission, my belief in the gospel is fully enrooted in the many testamonies of jesus christ that I have both heard and seen, but in most importantly I have come to know for myself by the power of the holy ghost that Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, died for me, that he lived and walked in palestine 2000 years ago and that he lives now as a resurected, and perfect being, and sits on the right hand of god our eternal father in heaven and that he will come again to rule personaly on the earth, and I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to usher in the dispensation of the fullness of times, this I know for my self, independent of anyone or anything else and of my own thought, choice and experiance.

How I live my faith

I try to help those around me as much as I can, I seek to find ways to apply my talents to my callings and duties, I try to be as helpfull as I can be to the lords work, I always am trying to find ways to improve myself and to be more like christ. So why? why try to be like him? is a question that I thought of when I began to decide to try to do it, if I had to put it simply it would be that without him, not just my life, but anything and everything would become absolutely meaningless, purposeless, the whole works, would be without a reason or ability to move on or progress, existence would then be as it has been put, caput!!, but I am forever grateful, and rejoice in the knowledge that I have of his gospel and that he did complete his mission to save us all from death and that if we repent and promise to follow his teachings, and his commandments and continue to endure and trust in him then our lives will not be meaningless or without purpose, and we will not be alone, that is one of the most precious parts of the gospel to me because my family is the most important thing to me, how much I learn, how much I gain, whatever it is that I obtain in this life will mean nothing, if I do not have my family and friends with me and to know that if I am faithful that I can be with them for eternity and we can enjoy all the happiness that we have here and now only coupled with the joy and happiness of heaven and being with our heavenly family forever, and it is all because of Jesus Christ that any of that is possible and that is why I am so grateful to him and our heavenly father for what they have done for all of us and I know this because I have received a witness of the truthfulness of this gospel and of Jesus Christ’s divinity through the power and witness of the holy ghost, I have felt God’s love for me and for all those around me, and that is why Christ is so important and that is why I am willing to go out and serve as a representative of him to all the world, amen.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Edward
the temple is a place where we can have some time away from the world, a time when we can try to do certain sacred ordinaces for those who never had the opportunity to accept them in this life, but the choice to let them be of full effect and benefit is up to those persons of who we are doing the work for, and they can still make that choice, we are just doing what is necessary to allow them to have the choice, in the temple we have the oportunity to do these ordinances for ourselves first and then for those who have passed on from this life, and these ordinaces are all a part of our Heavenly Father's plan of salvation for all his children. Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Edward
I am in complete agreement with the church's statement in regards to this question, the 12 apostles both were and are called not only as special witnesses of the divinity of Jesus Christ, but also to preach the gospel and to maintain and organize the church as christ would have them do, in each of the gospels in the new testament it is recorded that christ called twelve men as his apostles and sent them to declare his gospel to all the world, and now in our day he has called twelve men to serve as his apostles with his prophet as the president of the church so just as it says in the epistle to the ephesians, chapter 2, verse 20: "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone" and their duty is to testify and to lead us in the way of Christ, and I know that they will never lead us, or the church, or anyone for that matter, down the wrong path.
