Hi I'm Meg

I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy hiking and I love animals. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two children and six step-children. I have seven beautiful grandchildren. I have spent much of my adult life working and more importantly raising a family. As a mother I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to love, teach ,and serve my children. Now that they have families of their own, I again have the opportunity to love and serve my grandchildren. I want to be like the Savior and am beginning to realize that I can best do that and find the greatest joy in my life as I serve my family and others.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has changed my life. I am a much better person, wife, and mother since I became a convert to the church 10 years ago. I have greater peace and happiness knowing that I have a Father in heaven who loves me and knows me by name. I am so grateful we have a living prophet on the earth. I always felt that Heavenly Father would continue to direct His work on earth and speak to us just like He did through His prophets in biblical times. When I was taught this truth by my friends it rang so true and made my conversion so easy. It gives me so much comfort knowing I can speak to God through prayer and He hears and answers me. I cannot express enough my gratitude to the Savior for his sacrifice and patience, love, and forgiveness for me and for all of God’s children in this world. Anyone can find out for themselves the truthfulness of this gospel just like I did by reading the Book of Mormon and praying sincerely and in faith. I have felt a confirmation by the Holy Ghost time and time again. The Gospel teaches so much about serving others like the Savior. I have found that by serving my family and neighbors I grow as an individual and change for the better – I feel so happy about what I am doing and forget about my own problems and trials. The Savior teaches us “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by doing the little things each day to make me a better person like praying, reading my scriptures, and serving my family and others. I serve in the women’s organization in our church which helps us draw closer to Christ by learning more about Him, serving each other, and serving in the community. This wonderful group of women teach me so much by their great examples of faith and love of the Savior and each other.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief society is a women’s organization within the church for women 18 years and older. Its purpose is to build faith, strengthen families and to help others. When I joined the church 10 years ago I was struggling with some personal trials and the other women in the Relief Society took me under their wings and made me part of their ‘family’. They truly reached out to me and I felt welcomed and loved every time I was at church. It always felt like I was coming home. Relief Society was a big part of my conversion and my growing testimony of the gospel. Show more Show less
