Hi I'm Lucas

I grew up in Wyoming. I work as a Medical Technologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Recently, I graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and I am now working as a Medical Technologist in Arizona. I like to workout and play sports. Camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and just about anything that involves the outdoors and you can count me in. I enjoy learning and trying new things, and also getting involved in activities to give back to my community and to help others.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger my beliefs were mostly based on the testimonies of my parents and church leaders. I believed that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and its teachings were true because that is what I had been taught my whole life. However, growing up as Mormon can sometimes be challenging and there were many times where my fellow peers would ask me what is that I believe and why I believe those things. I felt like the church was true and I had always trusted that my parents were teaching me true principles, but I came to the conclusion that I myself needed to gain my own testimony and stop borrowing one from everyone else. So I began to read the Book of Mormon and took the challenge that Moroni gives to pray and ask the Lord himself if these things I true. So after reading, pondering, and praying about the Book of Mormon I gained a testimony through the Holy Ghost that it is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. After gaining my testimony of the Book of Mormon, I prayed and asked God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church and likewise the Holy Ghost confirmed in my heart and in my mind that this is the one and only true church upon the face of the Earth. This is how I gained my testimony and why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life by following Jesus Christ's example and by following his teachings. Throughout my life I have had the privilege of serving in different areas of the church. Some of my favorite callings involved working with the youth as a Cub Scout Master and youth Sunday school teacher. It is such a neat experience to work with the youth in the church and to see their testimonies of the Savior grow from week to week.
