Hi I'm Kimberly

I grew up in California. I'm a nurse. I'm a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up riding horses and playing soccer. I am a daughter of a single mother who worked so hard so my brother, sister, and I could have a good life. I have finished college, and am now a registered nurse, and I work with cancer patients in an oncology unit. I was on my college's rugby team, and I loved traveling to play other schools. I love being out in nature, dance and really doing anything active. I love to laugh and be with my family and friends. I served a mission in the Florida Jacksonville Mission, teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am married to an amazing man who is my other half.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church. I am so grateful to have grown up knowing how much God loves me and how he has a plan for me. Staying close to God my whole life has blessed me in so many different ways. I love the values that the Church teaches and how important families are to our church. After moving away from home for college, I was not around my family all the time anymore, but that is when I came to really rely on my Heavenly Father. I have learned that when nothing seems to be going right, and there is more stress in my life than I can handle, there is always someone to turn to who knows exactly what I am going through. Christ suffered every pain we've ever felt, and He knows exactly what we are going through, so He gives us exactly the comfort we need. The gospel has given me perspective in hard times to know that everything will work out as long as I follow Jesus Christ, and it has given me peace in hard times. The Lord has helped heal me as well, in healing my wounds and helping me to learn to forgive. What I know to be true and I can never deny is how much God loves His children. I have felt His love and His presence in my life, and He has walked with me every step of my life, leading me to those things that will bring me the most happiness. I am so thankful to be a part of Christ's church; the same church that Christ established when He came to the earth has been restored. I love the prophet, and I know that he speaks the words of God, helping us through modern-day challenges that we face. We are all children of God, and He is mindful of each of us.

How I live my faith

I have served as a sunday school instructor at our church, teaching one of the classes where we study the scriptures together. I also have helped organize the music programs, social activities, and service activities that take place at our church. I love people, and I love to teach others about what I know and love. I served as a missionary for a year and a half to teach other people about the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kimberly
Yes, there is a true and living prophet in the world today. God works the same in old times as He does now, and He loves His children now, just as much as He did in ancient times. Prophets are one way God shows His love to us. He calls prophets so we may have all the truths on the earth that are necessary for us to have eternal life, as well as to receive revelation to run His true church. We continue to study the words of the prophets from ancient times, but God continues to speak to His children today and give us guidance. The prophet receives this guidance from God, and he shares this with the entire church. In this way, God can make sure His church is run just the way He wants it to be. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth, and God directs His own church through a living prophet, just like He always has. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Kimberly
Grace is essential for us to have eternal life; it is the power that enables us to return to God's presence, but we are not saved by grace alone. We must do all we can to be the best person we can be first. We are expected to love God with all our heart, serve mankind, and keep the Lord's commandments. We all make mistakes, and all those sins move us farther away from God. We cannot return to live with God again in our sins, so that is where repentance comes in. Turning away from our sins, changing our hearts, and seeking forgiveness from God is what we can do and are expected to do. Then, after doing the best we can, and trying to follow Christ's example, that is where grace comes in. That grace is how we can be made perfect in order to be in God's presence again, through Jesus Christ's love and mercy for us. Show more Show less
