Hi I'm Hunter Hawkins

I'm from Colorado. I'm 22 and I'm a missionary in Anaheim, CA. I love to sing, I love facial hair... and you bet, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Hunter. I am twenty-two years old and I am a missionary. I'm a normal guy just like everybody else. But the things that I do with my life are what make me special. I was born in Gilroy, California and I moved to Colorado when I was two and a half years old. There are seven kids in my family. I am the exact middle child, number four. I've got two older brothers, one older sister, and three younger sisters. All three of my older siblings have served missions, just like I am doing now. My siblings are such an example to me. I love having such a big family. Growing up with all of them wasn't easy, but in the end, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I can't wait to have a family of my own. I love to play sports. My favorite sport is lacrosse. I also play soccer, basketball, football, and volleyball. But I'm no tough guy. Another thing I love to do is sing. I didn't enjoy singing until my eighth grade year. Since then, I joined the high school show choir and started my own a cappella group my senior year. I was the beat boxer and tenor for my a cappella group and even though the group isn't together today, I still beat box and sing every, single day. I love spending time with my friends. Friends are very important to me because they are the ones who made me who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been members since they were born. So when I was born, I was raised in this church. My whole life, I was taught the things of my church and relied on the faith of my parents to get by. I always wanted to believe it for myself but had many struggles along the way. By the time I got to high school, I started making poor decisions. I could see that I was starting to fade away from my church. When I was nineteen years old, I left on a mission for my church to teach others of our beliefs. I didn't know how I was supposed to do this since I wasn't sure if I believed it for myself. While I was on my mission, I had a companion who understood the Gospel very well and, through our studies, he was able to teach it to me. Along with that and reading the Book of Mormon for myself, I was able to gain a true testimony of my church. I left my mission to change my life around and have since returned to serve faithfully for 2 years. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of my church and the truthfulness that it brings to the world. I know that by keeping the commandments and following our living, modern day prophet, I will be able to return to my Heavenly Father someday and live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

There are many ways that I live my Faith. I am currently serving a mission in the California Anaheim Spanish speaking mission. I will be serving in this area for two years teaching others of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and sharing with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I study my Book of Mormon everyday so that I may further grow in the teachings of the Gospel. Everyday, I pray often to our Father in Heaven, and thank Him for all that He has done for me. I pray for those in need and ask Him to bless me as I teach His children. I pray that He will help others understand the message I am sharing. Another way that I live my Faith, is by being an example to those around me. I try my best to live by the standards of the church so that others will see how I live my life and want to live that way themselves. Even after my mission, I plan to continue the Lord's work and help others come unto Him. This Gospel is the most true thing that has ever been in this life. I invite all to read the Book of Mormon and test the promise in Moroni 10. All can know for themselves that this is the true Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
