Hi I'm Larry Martin

I'm 74 years old and worked in the grocery business for 50 years, was a SCUBA instructor and commercial fisherman in Alaska.

About Me

I'm 74 years old, spent 50 years in the grocery business, owned a dive shop and taught SCUBA diving for seven years, lived in Alaska for 11 years. I have hobbies which include underwater photography, land photography, hunting with a bow and arrow. One of my favorite pursuits is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 9 years old I was a member of the Baptist Church, the first scipture I learned was ( John 3: 16 ) about God the father and how he loved his son...and would give him for an atoning sacrifice for mankind . I learned about my church's belief in GOD and I was disillusioned. I started looking elsewere, about five other churches, that had about the same belief in GOD. When in high school I became acquainted with two girls that were members of the mormon church, after one year of college I went in the US NAVY and was put in the personnel office where I looked up members of the mormon church and acquired a Book of Mormon, thinking back to those two girls and remembering how special they were. After receiving the Book of Mormon and starting to read it I called my mother and told her that I was reading the Book of Mormon, pause and then my mother said ..." I wouldn't mind if you read the Book of Mormon but I would prefer that you read the Bible first ! " I did and it prepared me for the Book of Mormon and The restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities in the church, one of my favorite callings is a home teacher where it's my privelege to visit families and see how they are doing , spiritually, financially and physically through the month. I'm also a boy scout leader where I work with the youth of the church and community.
