Hi I'm Kellie

I grew up in Utah. I am a wife... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Utah with my Mom and Dad, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and the 3 best friends anyone could ask for. After graduating high school I moved away with 2 of my best friends to go to Utah State University in Northern Utah. I had the best 2 years of my life there (at that point). I found the love of my life, got married, quit school and started working full time. After a year of marriage and my husband's graduation, we left all that I knew and moved to Seattle, WA. I now work at an architectural design company as a receptionist. I spend my spare time dreaming of crafts to make for my house "one day" and for our children "one day". I enjoy going to sporting events with my husband and visiting the beautiful sites that Washington has to offer. I am the Secretary in the Young Women program in our ward. I love the girls and other wonderful women that I work with.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an LDS (Mormon) family. I never knew anything differently. I have always enjoyed going to church, praying and reading my scriptures. When I was a teenager, my walls were filled with pictures of the prophets, MormonAds, and spiritual thoughts that I had received from Primary or Young Women. All of my friends were Mormon. I hadn't even met a non-member until my 8th grade year (at least that I remembered). I guess you can say that I have always had faith in the gospel and in my Savior, Jesus Christ. But I think it took a little while longer to grow my own, personal testimony. I went through several trials where i had to rely on my Savior. My faith was finally put to a test and continues to do so on a daily basis. I know that without my Savior and the Atonement I would not be where I am today. I am happy (even though the world wants to make me believe that I'm not). I just take one day at a time and continue on with my Faith, knowing that the Lord will take care of me, if I do what is right and what he asks. I try to be a good example for my Young Women, try to help them gain their own testimonies early on in life and to strengthen their testimonies every day. I know that this gospel is true and that the Lord has prepared a way for us to return to live with him. At times it seems hard and impossible, but that's when I just pray to my Heavenly Father for help. I know that He will ALWAYS answer my prayers; I just have to LISTEN and be PREPARED to receive His guidance. I am a Mormon because I know my Savior and Heavenly Father love me. I love Them and want to return to live with Them one day, along with my eternal family. Because I KNOW this, I strive every day to do what's right to make this all possibly.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in my ward, particularly the Young Women. I am the secretary, so I get to work with all of the leaders as well as all of the age groups. I help plan activities and teach every couple of months. I feel that I learn so much from the young women because they are so strong in their faith and their desire to do what is right. I especially love helping them grow. We do so many activities that help them strengthen their testimony, but that also teach them important life skills so that they can one day be wonderful wives and mothers. I strive to be a better person every day, so that I can set a good example for those Young Women.
