Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Florida and moved to Arizona when I was very young. My wife and I were married 15+ years ago and we are blessed to have 5 beautiful children. I enjoy tinkering with, buying and selling cars as a hobby and have worked in the transportation and logistics field for over 15 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church as a teenager and always had an interest in the doctrine because it was different than what I was taught in my youth. I was born and raised as a Jehovah's Witness but as I grew up and started developing questions of my own I began looking for answers. My wife and I met two mormon missionaries in the late 90's and started having discussions with them about the church and the gospel. Several basic questions that I had always thought about were answered and it was confirmed to me by the Holy Ghost. My discovery of the Book of Mormon and knowing that I could pray and actually receive answers were the main reasons for my conversion. The confirmation I felt by means of the holy ghost was undeniable. Another key doctrine that I had always questioned in my youth and found an answer to was the authority of those who lead the church. The Fifth Article of Faith says it best, "We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof." I know that the Priesthood power is real and has been restored in present day. My wife and I were both baptized as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints shortly after those discussions with the missionaries. The gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life and the lives of my family. I am grateful for my membership in the church and I love to serve in the church. I try every day to refine myself spiritually, which is not always easy but I know doing so will bless my life, the lives of my family members and most importantly please my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the church. I currently serve as a youth advisor and enjoy teaching and learning from the youth. The youth in our church are a great example to me and I try to be a good example to them. Part of my calling involves serving as an Assistant Coach in the Varsity Boy Scouts program which I love. I also enjoy spending time with my family helping them to better understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My children range in ages from 3 months to 14 years. I always enjoy the challenge of coordinating a family evening that helps to keep all the children engaged and interested while teaching a lesson at the same time. I enjoy the many opportunities I am given to serve others. Whether it be helping with a service project, helping a neighbor move or trying to fulfill my calling in the church I enjoy the opportunity to do something for someone else. The most basic way I live my faith is trying to be a good example. While it is not always easy I find that I have more good examples than bad and I strive every day to be a little better, to draw a little closer to my Heavenly Father and to appreciate a little more each day what my Savior Jesus Christ has done for me and all of us.
