Hi I'm Nate

I used to be homeless, vulgar, and atheist, but now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid Musician. I play bass in my band Poorwater. In my spare time I love to play sports with my missionaries and I also love to get together with my friends and talk about the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to be a very vulgar and non believing Atheist. I had just moved into a new apartment with my wife. I had no job and no money at the time. So naturally I was wondering how we were going to pay bills. I felt like I hit a wall in my life and needed guidance and direction. So I would like to share my testimony with you all, taken out of an excerpt of my journal . I had a dream on the morning of march 2010 that was very spiritual and uplifting. This dream was very vivid and detailed. I dreamed that I was walking down a long dark road. Yet, in the midst of the darkness there was a light emanating from all sides of me. This light was as if the sun was shining through. I felt very encumbered, but at the same time very serene. My shadow had caught my eye, and I looked and beheld that it was normal to me. I looked back up and stopped, feeling as if I was weighed down. I looked back down and saw that my shadow bore a cross on its back, yet my physical self had not. After I had woken up from this dream I felt prompted to get on my knees and pray for a spiritual confirmation. I received this confirmation the next day, as I was walking to the mail box the next day, there were two missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints standing near my apartment. As I walked by I had a prompting to talk to them and invite them to teach me. I could not deny that this was the confirmation that I needed. As they taught me I knew that they were sent to me by heavenly father, and I am so very grateful that he did. From then on I knew that this is where our heavenly father wants us to be. He wants us to gather with him in that great kingdom and he loves us all very much. I know our savior lives and he love us. and I know that this church is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of god. And I leave this with you all, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live through the shining example of Jesus Christ. My wife and I teach the youth in the Elmwood Ward. We are so grateful for this calling we have received and we learn a lot from these children. I love to check up on members and love to teach non members. My wife and I also enjoy going to do baptisms through proxy.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Absolutely not. We recognize that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god and through God the eternal father and Jesus Christ and the gift and power of the holy ghost he was able to restore the gospel to this earth. We worship God the eternal father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
