Hi I'm Ruth

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom! That is my favorite part of life. I have four fantastic kids, two amazing daughter-in-laws and two perfect granddaughters. I love to hike, bike, and play ball...anything outdoors. I grew up with 8 brothers and sisters and cannot imagine what it is like to not have a big family to share life's challenges and joys with.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has blessed my life in ways hard to describe. I always believed the church was true, but the undeniable connection to my Savior and the knowledge of life after death came when I was 23 years old and lost my daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I cannot describe what it feels to be touched by the spirit of the Holy Ghost any more than I tell you I knew my daughter's spirit was with me when I entered the empty viewing room and approached her casket. No feeling has been more real. My life has been so blessed, and I find joy in living my life following the principles and guidelines the Lord has given us. I love being healthy and happy :-)

How I live my faith

I love to teach... right now I am teaching the 16-18 year old class... the best class ever! When I teach I try to challenge my class to try and see whatever principle we are talking about in a new and different light. I want to ask them questions they have not thought about before. I believe we need to constantly ask for guidance and inspiration. I have worked in the community serving as a loaned executive for Mesa United Way. We would go to organizations and challenge people to pledge money to the amazing programs offered to help those in need. I was amazed at the generosity of so many people willing to not only help, but offer hope and compassion to those that may not have received it anywhere else. It was a great experience.
