Hi I'm Don

I am a speech-language pathologist. I also decorate custom cakes with my wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a speech-language pathologist, a dad, and a hobby cake decorator.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, my family tree goes back to the founding of Salt Lake City. However, I'm a Mormon because I chose to follow the best course for my family. I know that God has a plan for me, and it is the best way to truly enjoy life, and the best way to prepare and protect my family. I came to know for my self when I was 14. I remember laying in bed one night and wondering if what my parents had always told me was true. I knew there was a supreme being of some sort and I believed He could and would communicate with people, but that night was the first time I really asked if He would communicate with me. It was the first time I understood the power of God and the depth of his love for me. It was awesome. I have felt that feeling since. When I married my wife. When I was able to baptize my little sister. When I received a letter asking me to be a missionary. When my son first called me "Daddy," and many other times when I asked God to remind me that He was there. It helps me to know that God is truly my father, and that he has a sense of humor (for evidence of His sense of humor, look at Australia). I have laughed, cried, and just talked with my Heavenly Father, and I know you can too.

How I live my faith

I have had many different responsibilities in the church. I have taught the adult men (fun), been in charge of Sunday School (kinda fun), and taught the youth (really fun!!!). Currently, my wife and I work to help organize cultural and social activities for a group of congregations (or Wards). We get to plan out menus and decorations, and we always work to have a spiritual feeling and to create an environment that will be inviting to everyone.
