Hi I'm Bradley

I love playing basketball. I love to make movies with my friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on the west side of Salt Lake City. I have 2 older sisters, 3 older brothers and one younger brother. I have always loved playing basketball. Out of all sports, I'm mostly attatched to basketball. Whether it's because I grew up playing on a cracked cement basketball court with my brothers, or watching the Utah Jazz in the days of "Stockon to Malone" , there's just something I love about it. I love how it challenges you physically and mentally. When I'm not playing basketball, or hanging out with my friends making comedic movies, I love to read. I should read more often, but when I do I love to read fantasy novels. All in all, I love to hang out with my friends, family, and be around them.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always grown up in the church and felt it was true. I can remember a time in my life when I specifically decided for myself that this was the way I needed to follow. I was 16 years old, living a good life, nothing too horribly bad, and at church my teacher gave us a promise as we follow the saviour. I felt the Spirit touch my heart and knew that it wasn't a promise from him, but from God. Ever since then I have decided to follow the Saviour's teachings that He restored in their fullness. I know this because of the Book of Mormon. My testimony of the Book of Mormon didn't come in one sitting. I hardly read it on my own before April 2010. I read it here and there. My brother served a mission for the church in North Carolina, when he came back, it impacted me a great deal. I saw the change that he had, his love for people, his love for the Saviour, and I knew I wanted to change and become more like the Saviour as well. I decided to serve a mission in April of 2010 and it has blessed my life. It has helped me to see my purpose in life. Which influences my decisions on a daily basis. It has made clear the things I can do to follow the saviour. John 15:26 says "But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me" Every time I have read about The Saviour's Gospel being restored through Joseph Smith, every time I read about the Saviour's life, I feel the Spirit testify to me that they are true.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite scriptures comes from John 15: 10-12 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. " I live my faith by doing my best to live the example of Jesus Christ and His teachings. Showing the love that He has for me, for others. "But Charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him." (Moroni 7:47 in the Book of Mormon) Charity, or the love of Christ, is a state of being. It is thing that motivates me to want to help others, serve others, look at others through His eyes, and just do my best. It gives me hope, in this world where things shift and change so easily. Even though I have plenty of faults , I know that He loves me and wants me to do my best.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Bradley
A testimony is a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost. It is the knowledge of things that are true. Such as I know that God lives. While we cannot see him right now, the Holy Ghost will testify to us of that truth, as we do our part to desire to know. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Bradley
Whenever I look at the night lit sky, you know there is something more to life. One way we can come closer to the Father of our Spirits, is to talk with him. Praying developes the relationship we can have with Him, to know and feel of his love for us. We can come to know His will for us, as He knows everything. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Bradley
The Priesthood is simply the authority to act in God's name. Christ and His apostles held this authority to preach His gospel, heal the sick and other saving ordinances. (Luke 9:1) Show more Show less
