Hi I'm Shaun

I'm Proudly South African, A Husband, a Father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a "Capetonian" through and through. Living close to the beach in Cape Town , South Africa for many years and being a avid Rugby fan, I initially found it hard to relocate to the USA. What started out as a short adventure has lead our family to a lengthy stay and settling roots. I have a stunning wife and three amazing children. I love sports, especially rugby and ice hockey, "braaing",cars, travel and adventure. I enjoy being of service to others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of almost 21 years. I took some time before joining the church as I personally needed to know for sure that I was making the right decision. Since then I have constantly seen my testimony and understanding of the gospel grow .I have never looked back. As you learn more you appreciate the opportunities there are to improve your life and be of service to others. The Church has afforded my family and I a greater understanding of the purpose of life and God's plan for us. I believe that families can be together forever, through this life and the next and it is this promise that solidifies my faith as a member. Knowing that Jesus Christ died for all of us has had a profound impact on how I live my life and treat those I come into contact with. Our time here on earth is short, but it is a time to prepare for the future.

How I live my faith

Since joining the Church I have served in various capacities throughout the years. I know that as I serve others, I too, will be blessed. I currently serve in the capacity of Ward Mission Leader and know that as I commit to help others understand the importance of the Gospel in my life, they will have the opportunity to change their lives and that of their families for the better. Seeing peoples lives change for the better is in itself a huge blessing. I am constantly striving to improve myself be it in work, church or just socially and I have found that through the church I have a unique advantage. The principals and teachings of this Gospel have taught me how to be a better husband, father and community member. I believe that "a family that prays together , stays together" and my family start each day this way. This gospel is a constant guide on how to live our lives. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not just a Sunday thing - it's a lifestyle.
