Hi I'm Matt Claridge

I am a pianist, a reader, a student, and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up moving around a lot, because my dad was having a hard time finding a good job. So, I've lived in Arizona, Utah, Virginia, California, and now Texas. In the midst of all our moving, my dad was able to secure a job with Apple, right before the iPod came out. So that went pretty well. I started taking piano around the beginning of Freshman year, and I had a knack for it and progressed very quickly. I enjoy playing New Age music, and my favorite composer is Paul Cardall. Two of my best songs are his, the Restoration Medly, and Fireside Medley. In addition, two other of my favorites are Cristofori's Dream and Music of the Night. I currently aspire to study Aerospace Engineering and Business Administration when I finally make it over to college. However, that course has been interrupted by my mission. I've been called to the Naga Philippines Mission, and will leave for it at the end of August. I'll be speaking in Tagalog.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, and for a long time relied on what I was told I needed to believe in. But soon, I started to have my own questions and doubts about my religion. Why was in this church? Why is it so important? Is it even true? Thankfully, these doubts didn't effect me for much longer. I began to participate more in church, to read the Book of Mormon, and finally to pray earnestly to my Heavenly Father. These prayers are what really helped me. I prayed often, and prayed to my Heavenly Father about the questions and doubts that I had. As I continued to pray, I felt the Spirit answer my prayers, and so I knew this Church was true. And I have never doubted it since.

How I live my faith

I agreed to serve a mission for two years, where I won't be able to see my family or friends while I'm gone. I don't know how else to show I'm living according to my faith.
