Hi I'm Holly

I love my family! I investigated the LDS church for 2-3 yrs, and am now officially a Mormon :) & I look forward to the future!

About Me

My mother passed away when I was young and my dad remarried about 6 years ago. My whole entire family, immediate and extended, are wonderful and I am blessed to have them in my life! I am currently attending ASU working towards a double major with a minor. I am majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology with a minor in Family and Human Development and plan to graduate this spring. I am in quite a few clubs on campus and enjoy meeting new people. I also take a couple Institute classes at the Tempe campus and love it all! I enjoy the summer, outdoor activities, movies, friends, music, scrap booking, shopping, cooking and especially eating :). I hope to find time for the culinary program at Scottsdale Community College soon as a hobby for fun and plan to do something medical related or psychology related later on!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everything that makes the LDS church unique is what I love about it! I love that the foundation of the church is Jesus Christ, His atonement & that He lives! That our Heavenly Father loves each one of his children & through the power of repentance, we may all return unto Him. The Lord always invites people to come unto Him with outstretched arms! I enjoy the daily blessing it is to communicate with God through personal prayer & reading the scriptures. I am grateful for our modern day Prophet & apostles that reveal the word of God because God continues to communicate with His children. I am grateful for the plan of salvation; to have a knowledge of the pre-mortal, mortal & post-mortal existence gives me an eternal perspective & has been a source of joy in my life! The restoration of the priesthood power through the Prophet Joseph Smith is a tremendous blessing that enables us to perform blessings, dedications & ordinances in the Temple. It is a blessing to have Temples on the Earth today; they are the House of God where we go to for help, knowledge & comfort. The Temple is the way we help others & ourselves through services performed in them. I am happy that there is a Relief Society in the Church & that women are treated as the daughters of God that they are! I enjoy the fact that in Church we can partake of the sacrament & people from the congregation teach each other. I am glad to dedicate my time to the Lord & Christ because they are the most important aspect & deserve more of my time. I am grateful for the Holy Spirit, it testifies of truth, guides & is our line of communication to our Heavenly Father. I am thankful for the positive influence, love & support that the LDS Church has in my life! The doctrine, principles & beliefs in the Bible, Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price & Doctrine and Covenants are a source of strength; having more than one source of knowledge means the world to me and I hope to share it with others!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of Christ! We are his brothers and sisters and have Christ like/God like qualities that need to be developed in this world. Our mortal existence is about change, trials, temptations and our faith throughout the whole process. By keeping the covenants I make and renewing those covenants each time I partake of the sacrament I am showing the Lord my faith and trust in Him. Our hearts mean so much so him, God has given us our agency which is why it is so important to Him that we offer up our hearts as sacrifices and align our will with His. I also read the scriptures daily, journal, dress modestly, follow the Ten Commandments, attend church, visit teaching, family home evening and practice the word of wisdom. I visit the Temple once a month, at least, and take two institute classes in addition to my normal classes. Being a disciple of Christ is about living the higher law and loving one another! Service is a huge part of how I live my faith and by being a good example to others!
