Hi I'm Jaquie

I'm a student, I'm a Wife, I'm a Mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a fun girl who loves life; it really can’t get much simpler then that. I grew up loving sports, the out doors, science of all kinds, helping people, and on occasion writing poems. I have a wonderful family that, like most, isn't perfect, but they do there best. My mother and father are divorced, so I had lived with my mother and amazing little brother for the greater half of my life. Before I joined the church I got a tattoo, drank a little, and did a few things that I may regret and I can fully say that life wasn't all peaches and cream for me (But who doesn't say that right?). However, now as a member my life is fulfilled with the greatest of joys. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful Husband who I know would do anything for me, a healthy beautiful baby, and with amazing experiences that I will never forget. I currently am working on a Degree in Healthcare Administration with the desire to become a Physicians Assistant. I think if I had the ability, I would also do something in the sciences. I love space and learning how the earth was formed, but most of all I love learning about the deepest of questions. However, I chose my degree because I love helping people the most in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because in my search for the right church, I found no other greater church then this one. One time at an art exhibit I found a quote which stated “Change the Religion to match the facts don’t change the facts to match the religion.” And this is precisely what this church does, gospel is gospel, doctrine is doctrine, and commandments are commandments; no in-between. My Conversion Story: I was searching for a church to be a part of, but not just any church; I desired to know which church is the right one and where I should go. Then came along a coach of mine who did the simple task of inviting me to listen to him and his family speak. I gave a simple “sure” as I had not ever heard of the church before. Soon there after I found myself interested and attended a few church meetings about once a month. I liked it and had grown to respect the people as well given how welcomed they made me feel. I partook of the sacrament each time I went, but hadn’t known what that fully meant until the coaches family decided to teach me about it. After learning I stated “Oh, then I shouldn’t be taking this should I?” They replied "It's your choice now". In the following meeting as I made the decision to pass the sacrament, out of no where came this burning feeling in my bosom and these words uttered in my head “No, you should be taking this, not passing it”. It was that moment I knew I was in the right place and decided to get baptized.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by example everyday, and it’s amazing how much of an impact it plays. As I am the only member in my family back home this role is very important. It’s amazing once you start noticing that the smallest choices make a big impact in life. Everything starts with choices and desire, and soon before you know it, your world flips. I’ve learned that people can change beyond ones ability to comprehend and I know this because I’ve seen it in my life from my father and myself. No one is perfect, but if we chose to let go of things not needed in this life, things that have little importance. You as person could exceed to things greater, far beyond just yourself. Life is not lived for you anymore; it is lived for the people around you. I invite you try this concept and think back to all the things in this life that has brought you to the very spot you're at now. You’ll see the pattern of your own past and think “what will my next choice be and where will it take me to next?” Do this, and the smallest choice has already begun ☺
