Hi I'm Marissa

Music is my passion and my friend. I'm a singer, guitar player, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in my last year of high school in the little town I call home. I've had my share of struggles in life, but I've pushed through them and have gotten stronger because of them. I have a strong passion for music. Music has shaped my life and will continue to do so. I'm in involved in the highest choirs in my high school and I perform in the annual "Caberet", a musical production, that my school puts on. I plan on graduating high school and from there, I haven't decided for sure yet. I either want to serve a mission, or become a musician. My wish is to inspire people all around the world, especially those who have struggled like I have, with music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. However, I wasn't fully raised in it. I was inactive for a while when I was younger. About 5 years ago, I started going again. It was hard, because it was just me. My family didn't go. At first, I was discouraged and didn't go as much. But as I grew older and as I started to understand what I was learning, going became easier and easier... and eventually, it became a part of me. I have trials in my life, just as everyone else does, and through the years, my faith increases. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God. I don't just believe, I know. The gospel has been an amazing blessing in my life, and I am proud to call myself a Mormon. Without the gospel, I don't know where I would be. Having the knowledge that I do gives me an advantage in life. And I'm so grateful that I was given such a blessing.

How I live my faith

I participate in every church activity as I can. You'll find me at church every Sunday. I go to mutual (youth group) every Wednesday, even if it's something that doesn't seem like it would be fun. I always have a great time when I go, regardless of the activity. I go on temple trips, I'm a part of the church choir, I go to stake activities, etc. I especially love helping with the service projects. I love being involved with whatever my church does. It makes me feel warm inside.
