Hi I'm Wayne

I'm a husband to a wonderful woman, a father to three incredible children, the headmaster of a middle school, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a second-career man who started working in real estate sales and marketing but "retired" so I could return to school to pursue a graduate degree in mathematics education. I completed my Ph.D. and began teaching middle-school mathematics in order to get more teaching experience with the goal of teaching pre-service math teachers in a college or university setting. I fell in love with teaching middle school and high school students, however, and am currently the headmaster of the middle school at a local college prep charter school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by loving parents who taught me well. There came a point in my life, however, when I needed to know for myself whether or not this church was indeed the true church of Christ. I did find out for myself that it is indeed just that-- the true church of Jesus Christ. I am an active Mormon and the gospel permeates my life. I don't know what my life would be like without the guiding principles of the gospel, but I see so many people making poor choices who have not been taught the purpose of our lives here on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith at all times. I am honest in all my dealings no matter who is watching me. I serve in the church currently by working with small children in the nursery. It is such a joy to teach these young children about their Heavenly Father who loves them so much and his son, Jesus Christ, who died for them. In addition to working with these little ones, I watch over a couple of families as their home teacher. I enjoy getting to know these families including their children. I hope I can help make their lives better as I serve them in any way I can.
