Hi I'm Mickie

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I became a bilingual teacher in Texas in 1973. Been there ever since. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired Bilingual Teacher. I predominantly taught Mexican children. It was the most rewarding job. They were and are such an example of devotion and loyalty. I am forever grateful. They have made me a better person. I was raised a Mormon then made choices that estranged me from my family, friends, and church. I married a wonderful Mexican Catholic. We have a combined family of 5 children and 12 grandchildren whom are all wonderful Catholics………and…………yup, I returned to my faith. I am a Mormon. My family still loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints helps me develop my personal relationship with the living Christ on a daily basis. It gives me a profound perspective on the meaning of life that helps me be more patient and understanding of others. And because of this perspective it helps me understand the nature of God and how our sojourn here on earth is a sacred partnership with Him. It teaches me how to access more fully the Holy Spirit that gives me that most humbling gift of peace and love that Our Lord, Our Savior, loves me and has hope in me that I will continue to strive to be a better person, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and member of His church. Being a Mormon helps me focus on things that are important like how to keep God the Father, His Holy and Beloved Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit working in my life. It helps me take care of my family physically, emotionally and spiritually the best I can. It helps me learn to forgive and be more compassionate with others and myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily repenting of my errors, following what the prophet says, reading scriptures often and relishing in the word of God. I live my faith by praying daily and trying to listen for the Holy Spirit to direct me into being the best person I can be for my family, friends, community and my fellow members of the church and serve them all as diligently as I can.
