Hi I'm Thom

I'm a father of two great boys and married to my best friend. I'm a software developer, music-lover, and a golfer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Texas with my wife and two boys, and they are my life. I was born in Washington, then lived in Utah through attending college. I took a two year break from school to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a missionary in Virginia. Upon returning home, I continued in school until earning my masters degree, after which I moved to Texas with my family for work. I love to spend time with my family, work on projects around the house, and play golf. I also enjoy good music, whether listening to it, playing it, or singing it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know through personal revelation that the Lord has restored His true church to the earth. I am a Mormon because I have received answers to my prayers that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that church. I know that Heavenly Father loves His children, and that He shows His love by giving them direction, both individually and collectively. Throughout history, He has called prophets and spoken through them to give His children guidance and direction on how to live their lives. He has once again reached out in love by calling prophets to the earth and given them the authority to speak in His name. I also receive individual guidance through personal and family prayer and scripture study, which helps me overcome the trials I face in my life. It also helps me understand more clearly what my Father in Heaven expects of me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides me the perspective I need in life to make it through anything that has or will come my way.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by serving in whatever area I am asked to serve. Currently, I teach a children's Sunday School class with my wife. The children we teach continually remind us of the simplicity of the Gospel and the importance of the little things in life. Each day, I strive to do these little things to strengthen my own faith in Jesus Christ and in His power to help us through our everyday struggles, as well as to celebrate our victories with us. I also live my faith by helping with the choir in our congregation. I love the power that music has to strengthen and deepen our relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, and strive to do my best to follow their examples in all that I do.
