Hi I'm Alex

I'm a freshman in high school, trying to keep up with homework, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a freshman this year in high school. I was born in Utah, but have mostly grown up in Colorado. I love to decorate, one of my dreams is to become an interior designer! I have a large family so we do lots of activities together like bike riding, hiking, sledding, cooking, and anything else out-of-doors. I love to eat frozen yogurt and watch Psych with my mom and dad. My little brothers and I watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars and play "light-saber". My friends and I love to hang out and laugh! I play the piano and am in Choir. I love music though I don't have a favorite artist. I enjoy reading, so much my parents sometimes take my books away.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or otherwise known as a Mormon. I have a true and firm belief after a few years ago at a youth girl's church activity. I was having a hard week and we got letters from our parents. I went down to the bank to read them. I started crying because my parents were telling how much they loved and missed me at home. I got down on my knees to pray got the feeling that I was loved by my Eternal Heavenly Father. I began to cry really hard, still didn't knowing how he could love someone like me. I looked up and through my tears I saw a Columbine. I realized that if the Lord took that much time to make a tiny, little flower how much time he took to take me in his arms and tell me he loves me. I knew that the Lord takes time to take us in his arms if he took so much time on a flower. I still believe this today I as I am going through High School. With all the crap that is going on around me I know I can still stand strong. People make fun of me but they almost always say they respect me because I don't back down on what I believe. I know that this church is where you can feel his love, peace, and mercy. I know that Jesus loves all of us and so does his father. I can feel his love everytime I am out in nature, and I know that if we take time to learn and to understand why we are here and our purpose in life, everything will work out.

How I live my faith

Since I am in the Youth Program we pricipate in many activites with helping others. We have sang at old folks homes and other areas. Just this past month during the summer I, and my family, worked together to help beautify one of the High Schools in the area. We weeded, planted trees, and painted. I love being with my family and we spend lots of time together. Every Monday we have this think called Family Home Evening. This is just a night where we share a family lesson and then play together doing an activity!
