Hi I'm Tina
I'm a Mormon.
I’m the mother of seven wonderful children, and I have seven grandchildren. My husband and I have been married for over 35 years. I enjoy seeing and experiencing new things, and have been to all of the western United States including Alaska. I’ve travelled as far east as Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Out of the United States I’ve been to Mexico, Canada, England, and Denmark. I enjoy going camping with family, cooking, watercolor painting, and I am a writer and an author.
My ancestors on both sides of my family have been members of the Church since the late 1800’s, but that’s not why I’m a Mormon. I’ve read the Book of Mormon numerous times, and have felt the powerful testimony of Jesus Christ within its pages. I’ve also taken the challenge in Moroni 10:4 to pray about it, and I do know for myself that it is the Lord’s scripture. There are so many things I love about being a Mormon. I love that the Church is always encouraging us to become better people, to get an education, and to serve others. I love that when disasters happen around the world people from our Church are there giving freely of their time to help. I’ve heard that some people think that women in the Mormon Church come second to the men, but that is not true, and definitely has not been my experience. My father treated my mother with great respect, and on Mother’s day he would also give me small tokens of his love, calling me a “potential mother.” My husband also treats me with great respect and love. I have had numerous opportunities for leadership and growth within the Church. I have felt the Lord's love many times in my life, and I know that this is His Church.
Every day I try to read my scriptures and pray, and I encourage my family to do the same. I go to church on Sundays to learn more about the Savior. I try to remember the teachings of Christ in my everyday life by trying to become a better person, repenting of things I do wrong, and forgiving others who might offend me. I am currently a teacher on Sunday for my peers.
