Hi I'm Devree

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fiance', I am adopted and I am a psychology student. While I was dating my fiance', I just knew there was something special about this man and I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. He has shown me what true charity and having Christ-like love for everyone means. I can't wait to be sealed to him for all time and eternity in the Temple of our Lord! My parents adopted me when I was just a newborn and brought me into their home and their hearts. I know that it was part of God's plan for me to have the family that I do have. I have known I was adopted since a very young age, and I fully embraced and accepted it. There is no greater joy than to know that I will always be with my family, even after death. I started studying psychology my second year of college and I couldn't get enough of it. I love to know how the inner mind works and why people do the things they do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and was baptized at the age of eight. I relied on my parents' testimony for a long time. In high school I went to seminary and started to gain my own testimony of Christ's true church. I don't follow blindly or because I'm expected to... I follow because I love this Church, my Savior and the blessings that have come into my life. Like any other person, I have had my share of hardships. I went through a particular one that really tested my faith and belief that Jesus loved me. I spent hours on my knees, praying through tears that He would take away my hurt and pain and let me forgive this individual who had hurt me. It didn't happen overnight, but eventually I learned to let go and my soul was at peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to Church every Sunday and living the principles of the Gospel in my day to day life. I am currently in the Single's Ward where I serve on the Sunday Social Committee.
