Hi I'm Casady

I live in the Pacific Northwest. But I want to explore the world. I love reading, history, and many other things!

About Me

I was born into the church and didn't really know of anything else, until my three older brothers decided they didn't want to be a part of it anymore. But I loved my brothers and I tried to understand them. I saw the Church of Latter Day Saints in a different perspective, in a way I wouldn't have thought to look. I guess that's why I'm a bit different than the other members. I'm going to high school, but not seminary. Reading and drawing is my passion. I love to create stories, and often daydream about magical adventures and think up tons of crazy theories. Mostly, I keep to myself, being more of a deep thinker than a social butterfly. I have a good sense of good and evil (probably from all those fiction books I read), but I like to see the big picture of things. I want to know the truth of this world and the next, and I wont stop looking until I find it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents were. I went to nursery and then primary and now Young Women. But I stopped going for my parents a while ago. I had a point in my life (and many more to come) where I could choose what I wanted to believe. And so I went to church because of myself. Each person is unique. I bet you've heard that a million times, but that saying can mean a lot. Each person has different beliefs, even if they have a religion shared with people all over the world. One person lets their kids outside on Sunday, and others keep them in, et cetera. So don't think you're not welcome in the Church because you might think differently than the "normal" Mormon. There are so many questions that I have, but I figured out that if I go to Church, I have a better chance of finding the answers.

How I live my faith

I'm not social. I have a hard time talking to people and I'm even worse at teaching and explaining things. So I don't really go around preaching the gospel to every single kid in the 10th and 11th grade. I can't find order in my mixed up feelings to properly share a testimony and I'm still trying to figure everything out (figuring is what I do, remember?). Is there anything else I can do? Because, really. Not everyone is born to be a missionary. Since teaching the word of God to others is one of the base steps to Mormonism, what are we supposed to do if we'd rather do something else to help the church? Though I sometimes (nobody's perfect) go to church and church activities, and be a good, smart person at school, there's not much I do besides that. I want to learn about my ancestors. I'm American through and through so I don't really know who I am. I wish I could say more, but you can only have so much on a profile page!
