Hi I'm Ryan

I was born and raised in southern Alabama. I love football drumming and helping people. But most of all, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in southern Alabama. That says a lot there. I love football, drumming, skim boarding, fishing, hunting, and doing all sorts of stuff that guys in the south like to do. Probably my favorite thing to do is to work with my dad helping others in there biggest time of need. I attended high school and a year of college and probably the biggest thing that I learned through all of the years of schooling so far have been service and charity. It doesn't matter who they are or what the circumstances are, all that matters is what you can do to help them and the joy that comes to their life. Seeing the way that a hurricane takes away somes home or a heart attack takes away somes life, has always made me curious to the workings of God. Though I might not be able to find or know all of the answers, I do know that I can continue helping God's children to have faith in him and return to live with him again.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but it wasn't until the age of 16 that I truly knew for myself that this church was true. I was traveling to a youth event in Mississippi when I had the question of "Is this church true?" pop into my head. Being raised as a Mormon I would always piggy back on my parents testimony. Then at this moment I realized that I couldn't do that when they were gone. So I said a prayer in my heart asking my Heavenly Father if this was the true church upon the earth today, if Joseph Smith truly was a prophet sent to bring to pass the restoration of the gospel, and if he really did translate the Book of Mormon by the power of God. That night we checked into a hotel and the next morning was check in. When we parked the car at the campus, I opened the door and put my foot on the pavement. I immediately felt the biggest amount of love from my Heavenly Father. At that moment is when I got my answer. I know without a shadow of a doubt that Joseph Smith did restore the gospel of Jesus Christ once again on the earth, and that by the power of God he did translate the Book of Mormon. Because of those things being true, I also know that this is the true church of God for all to come into so that we can return to live with him once again.

How I live my faith

I just finished serving as a missionary. I was called to serve in the California Carlsbad Mission and taught the people of the love that God has for them and of the restoration of his gospel again. At home I always look for oppurtunities to do service. Living in the South, hurricane season became my favorite time of year, not just so I could get out of school, but fo the fact that if a hurricane did come along, I knew that I would have the chance to put on my Mormon Helping Hands t-shirt and go to wherever they needed help. I have been able to do work in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. I love being able to perform a service for someone that needs the help but might not have the time or the strength.
