Hi I'm Raymond D. Smith

While born in Utah, I was raised in San Diego County, California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent 26 years in the US Army and National Guard, and 32 years as a law enforcement officer. I enjoy my seven children and doing genealogy related activities, both for me and for others I know or am related to. Having retired, I spend much of my time working in genealogy and the Idexing Program of Family Search. I care for two family cemeteries in the Alabama area and encourage others to do the same as public service to themselves and their community.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I developed a testimony of the Devine nature of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ through a lifetime of church activity. The strength this activity and testimony have given me has helped to stabilize my life and keep my family strong.

How I live my faith

I regularly attend the Sunday and other meetings of the Church and in working with others in the Church to help strengthen the Church community. Our combined strength has been a great asset in helping me to keep the principles taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ before me and my family. The great central teaching of the Church on the nature and purpose of the family has helped me to find and keep my place with The Lord.
