Hi I'm Andrea

I'm a mom of 4 amazing children. I'm a desert dweller. I'm a crafter and a learner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning. I read all the time, my favorite topics are historical fiction but I am developing a love for fantasy. I am a college graduate. People do a double take at me when I say I have a degree in microbiology. I have always loved science, it is so facinating. But I also love to create things and learn new skills. I love music and singing. I work in a craft store and have tried most crafts. If I don't know how to do something, I learn. I love being a wife and mom and am loving watching the people my children are becoming.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom taught me that Jesus loves me right along with teaching me my ABC's. I was singing "I Am a Child of God" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider" together. Growing up being taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and going to the LDS church was something that was just a part of my life. But at some point everyone has to decide for his or herself that you do actually believe it down deep in your own soul. No more just believing because your parents or Sunday School teacher told you. Becoming converted takes your own effort and desire. Through scripture study, prayer and experimenting with faith I have come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior. My personal testimony of His gospel is the strength of my life.

How I live my faith

There are some who think that Mormons have a long list of things they can't do. It isn't that I can't do those things, it is that I choose not to. Not because I fear punishment but because I can't be guided by the Spirit if I am sinning. So every day I choose not to do the things the LDS church counsels against; I don't smoke, drink alcohol, get tattoes, cuss or engage in violent or pornographic media. I DO choose to dress modestly, be of service when I find the opportunities, read scriptures, pray, work hard at my job, take care of my family and in every way become a disciple of my Savior Jesus Christ. I got involved in Scouting through my church service and enjoy helping my sons and other boys excel in that program. I have met many wonderful people of many faiths through Scouting and love my association with them.
