Hi I'm Emily

I'm a composer and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've homeschooled for most of my life. It's helped me get to know myself and to keep away from worldy distractions through my teen years. It's given me more family time than your average teenage kid. I love music- I'm in three highschool choirs and currently student directing. I compose music to express myself. Music is one of the biggest influences in my life next to my religion and parents. It's given me a future and place to go when I'm alone or frustrated. It's my goal to inspire people through music, to make them feel something inside of them that they never could face before. My friends and family are my life. I look up to my parents more than anyone else. My friends inspire me to live righteously and to read my scriptures. The purpose of planet earth is for "The Family."

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church my whole life and honestly, I cant imagine life without the gospel. It helps to strengthen me when I'm at my weaker points in life. It gives me reason to really live and enjoy life the best I can because I know where I'm going to end up when I die. I know i can see God again if I make right choices. Going to church every week is like drinking an ice cold lemonade after a hard day of work. Its refreshing. It keeps you stable and on the right path. I'm a mormon because I believe in a life after death. I'm a mormon because I have felt the calm reassurance that the Lord is with me, and will always be. I'm a mormon because the general principles I learn from the church, have strengthened me and inspired me to make the very best of myself.

How I live my faith

I try to live the gospel as if everyone is watching me. People often see things when we may not even know we're in their line of view. If i was to go about my day with Christ always at my side, i wouldnt want to have to change my thoughts and actions to become righteous. They should be righteous actions at all times- because Christ really is at your side as you go about your day.

What is faith?

Emily
The primary song "Faith" says "Faith is like a little seed: if planted, it will grow. Faith is swelling within in my heart. When I do right, I know." Faith begins as a desire. If you have a desire to have faith in the living Christ, then you already have the "seed" and have already taken your first step. To make the seed grow, you gain knowledge and understanding about Jesus Christ. If you get a warm feeling- a happy, peaceful feeling- then you know your faith is growing. Fath is believing in something that you cannot see. You can't see seeds when they've been planted in the ground. But you know they're there, and that they can grow to be something magnificent. Same with faith in the gospel. You can't see...but you can believe in the fruit that will come from having faith. Show more Show less
