Hi I'm Casi

I love to play with flowers, and am always learning new things. I'm a mom to a 16-month-old and a weimaraner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a girl, so really I just want to have fun. I used to be a florist for weddings and work in the news, but now I get to stay home with my adorable little girl and a very needy weimaraner that is admittedly my other baby. I love the beach more than anything, but I live very far from one. So, as you can imagine I don't get to go very often. But, moving across the country to support my hubby has it's perks, like fireflies, and beautiful green forest everywhere. I also think this place is home to the nicest people on the planet. Except maybe Guatemala, did I mention I speak Spanish? I have a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University. I served a mission for the LDS church in New York City. I like to take pictures, read good books, dance with my daughter and cook (and eat) yummy food.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe all churches have good principles and parts of the truth. The reason I am a Mormon is because I truly believe that this is the church that God has restored or brought back from the time of Christ, only we get to have it now. All of the good parts, brought back into one whole. I know that my redeemer lives, and that through his grace and mercy we can be saved. I know that the priesthood, or the power of God, has been brought back, and that we can use it to get closer to God. To make the covenants, like baptism, that God has asked us to make. I am a Mormon because of the feeling of peace the Holy Ghost brings me when I go to church, read the scriptures and pray. Twice a year we get to listen to our living prophet and apostles speak at a meeting that is broadcast all over the world called General Conference. I know these are men of God, called of God, and I love listening to their council, direction, and testimonies. I feel the same peace in my heart when I listen to them speak that I feel while praying or going to church. I am a Mormon because of the Book of Mormon. It is a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ written by the people of ancient America. I know it is the word of God because I have prayed, and I knew in my heart it was true. And I know that if you read it with an open heart, and pray to know if it is true, God will also answer your prayer.

How I live my faith

I hope I live my faith through my example. I try to be a good Christian and a good neighbor. I also get to work with the Young Women in my congregation. They are 12-18 and beautiful examples of how daughters of God should act. I also get to visit some of the women in my congregation through the women's organization. We talk about life, and the gospel. And I am able to make friends and get closer to the women of my faith this way. But, one of the biggest and best ways I get to live my faith is that I get to be a mom. I get to teach my little girl what is right and how to be a follower of Christ. And raising her has been the most fulfilling work I have done.
