Hi I'm Jerry

I am a wife and mom. I have hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going on 6 years of marriage with my wonderful husband. We have 2 kids, a 5 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year old girl. My family brings me so much joy! I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree a couple years ago and after doing several semesters of online school I am finally able to take "in class" classes in the evening and I am loving it! I was born into a family that was not religeous. I only remember attending church one time with my family, I was baptized that day. I was probably 6 and it was a very weird experience for me. When I was 14 I was living with my alcoholic mom and her boyfriend. One day when I was at school my mom read a journal entry I had made and was worried about how my home life was effecting me so she had me call my Aunt and Uncle in Utah and see if I could go live with them until she got herself straightend out. That decision changed my life forever. I made the call and a month later I was on my way to Utah. My Aunt and Uncle and thier 6 kids were, and are, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized less than a year later. Having me go live with my Aunt and Uncle was the best thing my mom ever did for me. I am so grateful for the example of my Aunt and Uncle, they treated me as if I was one of their own and taught me so much about the gospel in word and deed. Since that time I have served a full time mission, been sealed in the temple and have had many choice testimony building experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 I finally accepted my Aunt and Uncle's offers to visit with the missionaries. On their 3rd or 4th visit I felt the spirit so strongly and new that what they were teaching me was true. They asked me for the second time if I would be baptized and I said "yes". I was so excited. My baptism day was very special to me, I felt so peaceful and new! It is a very special memory for me.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the Wards I have attended. I love having opportunities to serve and have had my testimony strengthend because of it. Our little family has scripture study in the morning and at night. Every Monday evening we have "Family Home Evening" this is a great opportunity for us to have a spiritual message, a fun activity and spend time together.
