Hi I'm Jill

I'm a Wife, a Mother, a Nutrition Counselor, a Runner, a Cycling Instructor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful husband. I am a mother of 4 children. I work from home for a university as I help raise funds for students. I teach cycling classes as a local athletic club. I've run 2 marathons. I have a degree in Human Performance Management with an emphasis in Wellness. I started a nutrition counseling business 3 years ago which brings so much joy and satisfaction.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints were taught. When I turned 8, the choice was easy as I made the decision to be baptized. My life has always been blessed because of this choice to follow the Savior. I'm a Mormon because I have a firm testimony of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Life is better and much easier when we follow his teachings. I know that there is a prophet on the earth today that receives revelation for the world. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel in this dispensation and I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by him. The Book of Mormon has brought more happiness and comfort into my life than any other book and I know it is an inspired book written for the growth of our generation. I'm a Mormon because it makes me feel confident and content.

How I live my faith

I have helped in different areas of the church, but I am currently working with the young women in our ward. The ages range from 12-18. On Sunday I attend church with my family, help organize the Sunday lessons for the girls and I usually attend meetings after church where we talk about the girls and how we can help them to maintain strong morals and values. On Wednesday night I help as the young women meet together for activities. What a fantastic way to spend my mid week evening! These girls are amazing and help me to stay young!

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

In 1833, the prophet Joseph Smith received a revelation that pertained to our physical heath. In this revelation, our Heavenly Father asked that we not partake of addictive substances such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea and any illegal drugs. We were promised that if we followed these words of wisdom, we ould be blessed physically and spiritually. As science has caught up with this commandment, we now realize the harmful effect that these substances can have on our bodies. I am also thankful that we've been asked, through this same revelation, to eat fruits and vegetables in their season, numerious whole grains and we've been counseled to eat meat sparingly so that we might live a healthy life. The energy and stamina that comes from partaking of such great foods helps us to make the most of each day. Show more Show less
