Hi I'm Kassi

I'm a Canadian living the American life. I love music, crafting, and the outdoors. I am a wife, a home-maker, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my sweet husband in the Cardston, Alberta Canada Temple on May 17th 2008. Together we enjoy many outdoor activities such as back-packing, hiking, and especially rock climbing. My husband works from home as a health coach, and I have been Dental Assisting for 3 and 1/2 years. We are both very passionate about health and nutrition and strive to live a healthy, active lifestyle. I love to craft and create and I am learning how to sew. I love to get ideas from blogs and enjoy learning new things especially trying out new recipes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family. Although I was raised by LDS parents I didn't always know the church was true. In our religion we encourage everyone to read the Book of Mormon, study, and find out for ourselves. I have been asked many times how I know the church is true, for me it has always fit. The gospel just makes sense. I feel the spirit in my heart telling me these things are true whenever I study the scriptures, or pray to my Heavenly Father. I may not have had one specific moment that changed my life, or see the Father and his Son appear like the Prophet Joseph Smith, but each small moment when I feel peace and light enter my life the spirits quiet whisperings let me know that it is true. The gospel is happiness. I have seen what my life is like without the gospel and have come to understand that through Jesus Christ we can find true happiness that cannot be found elsewhere. The struggles and trials in my life only make me realize how much I need the Savior and bring me closer to him. We can hear his words today through our living Prophet. The gospel has been such a strength to me throughout my life and has lead me through some very hard experiences that have made me a stronger person. Because of these trials I know that the Lord does not forget his children. I know that I can always turn to him and that the Saviors love is infinite and unconditional. Everyone needs him and his arms are always wide open. It is never too late.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith on a daily basis as it is the core of who I am. I want to come to know my Savior better and to apply his attributes in my own life. I am not perfect so it takes constant effort. One thing that helps me live my faith is to know that we are all Children of our Heavenly Father. Because of this I want to try to treat everyone with love and respect and see them the way our Father in heaven sees each of us. No one is perfect and each life is different. Everyone has trials and we each have our own experiences. I try to be an example each day to those around me as a disciple of Jesus Christ through kindness, tolerance, charity and acceptance. I attend LDS church services every sunday and try to apply the principles taught such as paying a 10% tithe,(we are asked to give 10% of our earnings to the church to help others), reading my scriptures, praying, striving to be forgiving and honest and serving my fellow men. I help to teach the children in our church by serving as a Secretary in the Primary. The sweet spirits of the children are so strong. They are so pure and they understand so much more than we think. I help them to know that they have a Father in Heaven that loves them and to come to know him as their Savior Jesus Christ. I love the gospel and I want to help others to learn and love it too!
