Hi I'm Kenneth M. Johansen

I grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I was a dual citizen and chose to keep my US Citizenship. I have a wife & 5 children.

About Me

I was raised in the LDS Church. My ancestry was in one of the hand cart companies. My grandfather homesteaded from Utah to Alberta in about 1905. I never remember my father walking. He was cured of Multiple Sclerosis through a priesthood blessing and outlived my mom. I am a Brigham Young University graduate and worked for newspapers for about 5 years. I returned to school and got an associates degree in electronics. I have several mild disabilities and worked for myself most of my life. My wife is a registered nurse and the main bread winner. We have 4 boys and 1 13 year old girl. Three of my children have mild disabilities. (Attention Development Disorder, a mild form of epilepsy and Asbergers Syndrome) I have been married to the same person for 33 years and have tremendous extended family stability on both sides of the family. (My wife and I have over 1,200 cousins, nephews, neices, their wives and their children due to the emphasis of eternal families in our families. I enjoy water sports and going to Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park every three years for a family reunion of my Grandfather Johansen's family. I am a Mormon and love to talk to others about it.

Why I am a Mormon

I may have been raised in the church but there comes a point in everyone's life when you need to find out for yourself. This happened over a long period of time but was confirmed to me as a young single adult in Sunday Church meetings. I went on a mission in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri where I was able to be a guide in Liberty Jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith was falsely imprisioned during the winter of 1838-1839. There he received 3 revelations which are in the Doctrine and Covenants. I have seen real miracles happen, I have been a receipient of miraculous healings and the voice when miracles occurred through the name of Jesus Christ and the Priesthood Power exercised in His name. I have had a very strong confirmation through the Holy Ghost that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church that has the fulness of Chirst's teachings and power and authority on this earth. In saying this I do not put down other beliefs or churchs that do good but the fulness of the gospel is found in this church. I am 60 years old and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have worked in scouting. Two of my sons are Eagle Scouts. I have taught Primary, working with young children up to 11 years old. I have worked teaching adult classes and have also taught youth. I have been a secretary on two different occasions, once to keep track of membership records and once setting appointments for our Bishop. For over 10 years I was in charge of setting up and recording the satellite broadcasts for General Conference, Young Womens Meeting and the Relief Society Broadcast and many other meetings. I was there when "The Family, A Proclamation to the World" was given by our Prophet. Two months later in November newly called Apostle, Elder Henry B. Eyring gave a detailed message on this document at a Young Single Adult Fireside. We pay tithing and other donations. Currently I volunteer to work in the Temple.
