Hi I'm Kris French

I'm a Red Sox Fan, a husband, a father, a business owner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a Red Sox fan since I was 3 years old. My Aunt lived in Boston and would send me all kinds of team memorablila and I've been hooked ever since. I don't like to sit still, I'd much rather be doing something: playing baseball, soccer, playing with my son, hiking, mountain biking, snow boarding, running, skating, I'm pretty much up for anything. I graduated from the U of A with a degree in business finance and then took over the trailer dealership my parents started in 1986. I co-own the business with my dad, which can be a challenge, but the blend of old and new ideas has served us well. I love to travel with my wife and our children and look forward to experiencing new places and hopefully serving a mission one day with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife has been a member her whole life, we have been married for almost 9 years and I was just baptised 4 months ago. I was always supported by her and her family and never once was pressured into converting. I had gone to church with her off and on for the last 9 years and liked it but never had the feeling to take the next step. Missionaries came over for dinner a couple times and it never really clicked. I'm the type of person that has to do something for myself. I knew my wife and in-laws wanted me to have a testimony of the church, but I knew it had to be something I wanted, first, for myself. I always liked the feeling i got when I was around my wife's family; the love and the happiness. I recently lost my mom to cancer and my wife discussed with the beliefs the church had in eternal familes. I began wanting to know more and I started to read the Book of Morom and praying. I decided to fast (go without food or drink for two meals) on fast Sunday (the first Sunday of every month) for the first time. During church I was reading from a book called Gospel Principals which outlines basic principals in the church and came to chapters, Baptism and The Holy Ghost. I had this overwhelming feeling of happiness and my whole core felt warm. That Sunday I asked to speak to the missionaries and I started having discussions with them. I had a great connection with the missionaries from the start. They were the perfect missionaries for me, very humble yet confident in there testimonies. Since I have been baptised I have been so much happier and I feel so much closer to my family. I was able to bless my 2nd child and that was one of the best expierences in my life. I cant wait unil I can be sealed with my family for time and eternity in 8 months.

How I live my faith

As a new member in the church I was initially daunted by the prospect of serving in the church, but knew it would be asked of me. I began by home teaching with my brother-in-law. We go to visit a few of the families in our church once a month, to give a brief gospel lesson and see if they need any help. This has been a great opportunity for me to learn more about the gospel and meet the people in my church. I am also a ward missionary, which means I serve as a missionary to the people that meet in the same building as I do for services on Sunday. I have the opportunity to meet with people who aren't actively going to church or families that aren't all memebers. I also go out with the full time missionaries when they need help. I have the chance to share my testimomy of the church with others which is helping it to grow. I have found that by living my faith and serving I others I continue to learn and grow and feel I am becoming a better person.
