Hi I'm Sherry

I grew up in Vancouver, WA. I love to Sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just recently moved out of my home that I had lived in for 13 years to live on my own at Brigham Young University. I love to sing, I love to act, and I love to dance. In general, I just love to perform and entertain others. But, more than that, i love to be an example and to uplift and help my brothers and sisters here on this earth. I'm at the crossroads in my life, where every decision I make directly correlates with the rest of my future. I am so grateful for the guidance that the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives to me, and so grateful for His hand and guidance every moment of every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church of Jesus Christ, but was converted to the Gospel in between my freshman and sophomore years of high school. I was able to express my agency and sample the life that I would live without the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I know that that is never a life that I wish to lead. I live the Gospel because it truly is happiness. There is no other means that we can be truly happy than by following Jesus Christ. Every trial, every infirmity, every choice that I've had to make, I have had help because of the power of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am so inadequate, I am nothing, and yet through my God I am made strong and whole.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the brightest example that I can be day by day. I try and serve in my calling the best that I can. In my ward I am called to serve as the Compassionate Service Coordinator, so whenever a sister in the ward is ill , needs a dinner, or just needs a friend, I and my committee members go and uplift that sister.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We know that life doesn't end when we die. Because of this many people were unable, while on this Earth, to recieve the Gospel and enter into the sacred and purifying waters of batism. Our Father in Heaven loves us and wants us to choose to live with him again. The Ordinance of baptism itself must be performed here on this physical Earth. Therefore, by proxy is the only way in which the dead can have the ordinance performed for them. What a blessing it is for me to know that I can give back to those who have gone before me and perform the work of salvation as proxy for them. Show more Show less
