Hi I'm Matt

I was born and raised in Colorado. I am a college graduate, a real estate broker, a Christian, husband, father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a real estate broker and formerly a geologist. I love the outdoors and especially love Colorado. I love to hike, mountain climb, ski, attend football and hockey games and concerts and spend time with my family. My family includes my wife, one boy, three girls and two Malamute dogs. I graduated from a prominent state university in Boulder, CO.

Why I am a Mormon

My great-aunt and -uncle joined the Church by accepting missionaries into their home and eventually converting to the LDS religion. My mother eventually followed suit. I am grateful to them for their faith to follow their beliefs and strong feelings and overcome persecution and opposition from others as they made that decision. My father joined the Church soon after I was born, again by listening to the message shared by the missionaries who spent time with him to explain to him the blessings principles of our religion. I was raised as a Mormon. I am thankful beyond words for the faith of my family before me who chose to accept, live by, and teach me the Gospel of Jesus Christ while in my youth. I can't fathom the consequences of my decisions had they not been postively affected by my upbringing and living by Gospel principles. I am thankful each day to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While I never had to make the decision to accept the LDS faith from missionaries, I am even more thankful that I was raised with a belief in God and knowledge of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I had to contientiously accept the LDS faith essentially by deciding to live my life according to its principles. I can't imagine life any other way. Because of my beliefs, I have a strong sense of family, and of purpose in this life. I have an understanding of life beyond this mortal one and I believe in eternal progression. These beliefs empower me as a human being, as a father, son, and Christian.

How I live my faith

I have been actively engaged in service work and participation in my church in my congregation (ward) for my whole life as a youth and as an adult. I served a mission in Russia helping spread the deep joy and understanding of my beliefs for two years. I most recently gave uncompensated service as a leader of men in my congregation and I now teach sunday school lessons to the youth, ages 14-18. I also have families in my ward that I regularly try to visit and give service to at least once a month.
