Hi I'm Judi from Indiana

I'm a daughter, sister, neice, mom, aunt, granny, friend, and teacher... and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My husband and I have 5 children, 3 granddaughters, and 1 grandson on the way. We have 1 son just out of the Navy, and a son-in-law currently serving in the Navy. I went back to college when our kids were all old enough to be in school, and got my Bachelors in Elementary Education, and my Masters in Special Education... My heart is with children with severe disabilities. I currently teach at the university level, but sure do miss those wonderful children! I love being with my family... camping, laughing, talking, and cooking! I do a lot of Family History work, and have worked on both my biological lines and my adoptive lines.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm LDS for several reasons... First, I truly do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for me, as the church teaches. Second, the Plan of Salvation just makes sense! We did live before we came to earth, and we will live after we die... this makes everything I do in my life mean something. Third, what a wonderful truth that families can really be together forever! I'm so thankful that my husband and I are sealed for Eternity, and that we can have our family with us always. Fourth, The Book of Mormon is such a wonderful addition to the Bible, in testifying of the divinity of Jesus Christ. What joy, comfort, peace, strength, and guidance comes from studying and pondering the words of the Savior! I was given up for adoption when I was 4 days old, and adopted at 4 months into an LDS family. Although I have strong ties with some of my birth-family members, being adopted into my Mormon family was the best thing that ever happened to me! I would be nothing without the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

There are not a lot of LDS (Mormons) in our city, but everyone who knows our family knows we're LDS, and some of the things we believe. When our 5 children were little and I'd have them all at the grocery store, the dialogue with the cashier would go something like this: "Are ALL those YOURS??" "Yep! They sure are!" "Well you're either Mormon or Catholic." "You guessed it! We're Mormons!" There have been times when people we've known for a while will say, "I didn't know you're Mormon! You don't seem weird at all!" or "I thought Mormons weren't Christians, but you seem like a Christian to me!" I love sharing the Gospel with people who want to know... I don't push my beliefs on anyone, but I sure enjoy dispelling myths and stereotypes!

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Judi from Indiana
I love reading the scriptures! It gives me so much peace in my life. I love reading about the ministry of Jesus Christ... reminds me of how much He loves each of us. It also reminds me of the type of human being I am trying to become. The scriptures are like a conduit of revelation for help with the business of every day living. No matter what I'm going through or how heavy my burdens feel, I always feel a sense of peace and joy when I read and ponder the scriptures. I have received answers to prayers when studying the scriptures... things become clear and focused in ways they weren't before. Show more Show less
