Hi I'm Brett

Im a new husband, i go to school online, i love my family, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life! I love being a husband and sharing life with my wife we have been married for only 9 months now. Hobbies include x-box, motor biking, 4 wheeling, boating, basketball, football, weight lifting, and family. I love to meet new people and work with them. Im just starting school at BYUi online, i hope to eventually study business management with a marketing emphasis. We live in Spokane Washington and may eventually buy the home we are staying in now. My wife and i love serving in our church, and love to serve our savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i believe the feelings I have are real! I love how in my faith we read from the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I believe both to be powerful witnesses of Jesus Christs divinity. These books show me evidence that he is my personal savior mostly from the feelings of my heart as I read them and pray about them. I first had real evidence like this when i was 18 years old, one of the leaders of our church at that time President Gordon B. Hinkley extended to all the members a challenge to read the Book of Mormon and pray on the subject of its truthfulness. I will never forget finishing that book for the first time December 29, 2005 (the challenge was to finish before the end of the year) ,and kneeling at my bed side humbly covering with my father in heaven. What a blessing that moment was when i truly knew that Christ was my savior. I was also at this time in my life deciding wether or not to serve a full time mission fro my church this confirmed my decision to serve. Since this point in my life i have read the Book of Mormon 7 times, and the Bible 2 times and still know just as well if not more today that my savior lives. My beliefs have been such a blessing in my life, and have done nothing but change it for the better. I believe and know this life is a preparation to return to God and i know that I have found the best way to do that in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

To live my faith i currently attend church every Sunday. My wife and I both have "callings" or responsibilities in our congregation to serve and we work on those. We try to read the word of God together to bring the spirit in our home. In our church today we believe in a prophet that receives revelation from God and a big part of our beliefs is to follow the word of God through his chosen prophet. None of the work we do in our church is paid, we all volunteer this brings great blessings to my family. We are counciled to do good works and serve anyone we know that is in need, this is not only a general christian belief but has been central to how I live my faith. I was also called from my church to serve a two year full time mission in Michigan Detroit, this calling was from the Lord and we believe in fulfilling all responsibilities the Lord gives to us. My mission was a great responsibility, brought great blessings into my life. I have learned from the new testament that if we give something away we shall find it, and the has been true in my personal worship and service in this church. i fell like i have gained so much more than i have given as I have lived my faith.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe in the Godhead, this means that God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings. Heavenly father, and his son jesus Christ have perfect bodies with flesh and bones. However the Holy Ghost or Holy Sprit is just that, it is a spirit. Because it is a Spirit The Holy Ghost can be felt within us. Among the many responsibilities of the Holy Ghost the main one is to testify of Jesus Christ, of his teachings, his example, and most of all his atoning sacrifice for us. When he learn of Christ and fell good feelings it is the Holy Ghost witnessing to us of Jesus christ and his divinity. Show more Show less
